We mixed red and yellow paint to make orange pumpkins in the art center. Then we drew shapes to make eyes, noses, and mouths. We made lots of different kinds of faces on our jack-o’-lanterns!
As part of our writing block, we learned and practiced how to make different kinds of lines and curves. This will help us with both drawing and letter formation. We took those lines and curves and learned new ways to draw people, houses, and animals. We also used lines and curves in the art center to draw and paint. You can draw anything if you know lines and curves!
Here’s what we’ve been up to in centers this week… Working on our trash to treasure projects Making 3D shapes with magnetic rods Building with blocks and Legos
We completed our study of animal needs and fact writing with an engineering challenge. Working in teams, students had to build a habitat for their animal.
At the Art Center this week, we experimented with mixing colors. We used red, yellow, and blue food coloring. We transferred drops of colored water from one bowl to another to see what would happen. It was also a fun way to get some fine motor practice in while squeezing the pipettes! Everyone is excited to try mixing all of the colors together next time. What will it make?
